On this day trip, you'll see the highlights of Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its Roman monuments including the Roman Arena, a Roman theatre, the Aly Camps, a huge Roman necropolis, Roman baths and the Church of Saint-Trophime, before strolling in the footsteps of Van Gogh and the places that inspired his art. Arles is a must. Then head to Les Baux de Provence and discover this medieval village on a 245-metre-high rocky outcrop for breathtaking views.
Finally, head to Saint Rémy de Provence to visit the Saint-Paul de Mausole Monastery (own expense) where Van Gogh lived for a year. Visit the historic center and take a complimentary walking tour of the old town. Meet your guide in the morning at your address or hotel and travel to Arles in your comfortable private vehicle. In Arles, enjoy a stroll along the Cours de la République with its rich architecture and charming cafes. Admire the Roman Arena and typical architecture on your way to the old town of Arles. Explore the area, visit charming boutiques and craft shops to pick up a unique souvenir.
Next, head to the charming village of Les Baux de Provence, located in the Alpilles. Then follow in Van Gogh's footsteps and explore Saint Rémy de Provence and the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole Monastery (not included – €5/person), to learn and discover where the painter lived for a year (1889-1890) and enjoy the magical atmosphere of the place that inspired some of his most famous paintings (Stary Night). Then, enjoy a free walking tour of the old town of Saint-Rémy. At the end of the tour, your guide will take you back to your starting point.
